Payroll Settings

Configure general, federal, Social Security, Medicare, state, local, unemployment, and other payroll-tax settings.

Payroll privacy and security notice

Payroll pages may contain employee identity data, compensation rates, tax settings, bank-account metadata, payroll totals, and reporting information. Screenshots in this public guide use redacted or demonstration information. Access must be role-based, logged, and limited to the minimum information required for payroll, HR, finance, compliance, or authorized management duties.

Tax and payroll responsibility

True Care System provides configurable payroll workflows and reporting tools. Providers remain responsible for verifying current federal, state, and local tax rules, wage-and-hour requirements, overtime rules, filing obligations, banking requirements, employee classifications, and payroll outputs with qualified payroll, tax, legal, or accounting professionals.

Purpose

Payroll Settings configures Provider-specific payroll tax behavior. The page supports Providers operating in one or multiple U.S. states and does not hard-code one state or local jurisdiction into the layout.

General settings for enabling payroll tax calculation, Provider scope, contacts, defaults, rounding, and calculation method.

Page-Level Controls

Save SettingsSaves the Provider payroll configuration.
Payroll Tax StatusShows whether Provider-level payroll tax calculation is enabled.
Operating StatesCounts configured states where the Provider employs staff or has payroll obligations.
Local JurisdictionsCounts configured city, county, district, transit, occupational, or other local taxes.
Tax ReportsShows whether settings are ready to feed Payroll Processing and Tax Reports.

General Tab

Enable Payroll Tax CalculationAllows Payroll Processing to calculate configured federal, state, and local taxes after the calculation layer is connected.
Payroll Contact Name / Email / PhoneStores the Provider authorized payroll contact.
Tax Year Start MonthDefines the default tax-year starting month.
Default Work StateSelects a default after operating states are configured.
Default Local JurisdictionSelects the standard local jurisdiction when applicable.
Rounding MethodControls supported monetary rounding behavior.
Calculation MethodDefines whether calculation is performed per pay period or another supported method.

Federal Tab

Federal Tax Settings
Federal employer identity, deposit schedule, withholding, FUTA, and federal payroll form settings.

Social Security & Medicare Tab

Employer Account NumberProvider state employer account.

Filing FrequencyStores the selected state filing cadence.
Effective From / Effective ToControls the period in which the state configuration is valid.
Add Operating StateAdds the completed state configuration.

Local Taxes Tab

Local Tax Jurisdictions
Local jurisdiction setup for city, county, district, transit, occupational, and other payroll taxes.

StateSelects a configured operating state.
Jurisdiction Name / TypeIdentifies the local taxing authority and category.
Tax Account NumberProvider account with the local jurisdiction.
Employee Rate / Employer RateStores employee-side and employer-side percentages.

Filing FrequencyStores the local filing cadence.
Effective From / Effective ToControls the configuration effective period.
Add Local JurisdictionAdds the jurisdiction to the Provider list.
